Build smart homes powered by AI. Leave with a scholarship and a career path.
BE SMART is PIERRE's autumn camp for young developers and IT engineers who want to build AI-powered smart home systems. 3 weeks with real devices and a real team in Subotica and, for the strongest participants, a one-year scholarship plus a real chance to pursue a career in smart home automation.

Not a classroom exercise. This is what building a smart home product actually feels like.
You get real tasks, real context and direct access to the team that designs, programs and ships PIERRE systems. Work on your own, yet with the support and guidance of a professional team that will help you build an actual, functioning product.
Devices and web
A task designed by our mentors, close to what PIERRE engineers do every day: software on smart home devices, plus the server and web app behind them. A core part for everyone, and an extra part if you finish early.
Claude Code and every tool
You get access to Claude Code and all the tools our team uses. You learn when AI helps, when it is wrong, and how to check its work.
A mentor every day
Every participant has their own PIERRE mentor, who works with you one-to-one from the first day to the final presentation.
Feedback halfway
Halfway through the camp you get short, personal feedback, so you know where you stand and what to improve.
A final presentation
At the end, you show your working prototype to the mentors and explain the decisions behind it.
Scholarship and a career
The two strongest participants get an offer: students become PIERRE scholars for a year, with the possibility of a job afterwards. Non-students get a chance of a job at PIERRE.

Open to everyone. Curious minds always.
The camp is open to everyone: students, graduates and self-taught developers. What matters most is that you are curious, innovative and genuinely excited about AI tools. Strong on devices or on the web (servers, web apps)? There is work for both. Priority goes to candidates from Subotica and the surrounding area.
- You're curious about AI tools and can't wait to build with them
- You like new ideas, and you look for better ways to solve everyday problems
- You can come to our Subotica office on workdays for 3 weeks
- Smart homes, embedded systems or web development are where you'd like your career to go
Only 4 places. Applying does not guarantee a place in the camp. We select participants based on the written task and a short interview.
Same person. Smarter level.

Scholarship or a chance of a job
Within 5 working days, the two people we choose hear from us: students get a one-year scholarship, everyone else a chance of a job at PIERRE.
3 weeks, week by week.
Your schedule is flexible and we agree on it together: 4.5-hour sessions in our Subotica office, working from home, or a mix of both. Everyone works individually on the same task, so each person's work is visible.
Development
Work through all 7 milestones, in order, at your own pace. You show your progress at the weekly demo.
Final touches
Tests, bug fixes and demo preparation, ending with the final demo.
A one-year scholarship. A career in smart home automation.
At the end of the camp, we choose the two people whose way of working fits our team best. Here is what's waiting for them, and for everyone else.
Free hands-on knowledge · Work with our team · A BE SMART CAMP T-shirt · Personal feedback · A certificate of completion

Good questions.
Do I have to be a student?
No. The camp is open to students, recent graduates and self-taught developers. What matters most is curiosity and enthusiasm for AI tools and new technology.
Can I use AI for the written task?
Yes. Tell us what you used it for and what you checked yourself. We score your thinking, not the polish.
How much time does the camp take?
3 weeks. The schedule is flexible: we agree together on time in our Subotica office (4.5-hour sessions), working from home, or a mix of both.
Does it cost anything?
No. The camp is free for everyone selected.
Do I need a GitHub profile?
It helps, but it is optional. A short description of one project you built, at school or on your own, is enough.
What if I'm not selected?
You get an email with a short explanation and an invitation to the next camp.
If you've read this far, you're probably who we're looking for.
Only 4 places. Send the form by November 13, 2026 and the written task arrives in your inbox straight away. The two strongest participants leave with a one-year scholarship or a chance of a job at PIERRE.
